Lately we have been having a little but of trouble as parents in parenting Nicholas. This isn't because Nicholas is difficult or bad, its because we have never had a 3 year old before and we don't know how to react to him. He is so smart and he has us figured out.
Today he is sick. Cough and fever so he went to work with me this morning and we are home this afternoon.
I really wanted to write this post to reflect on the compassion shown to me by the President of my company. I had a tough day yesterday, I took Nicholas to the doctor for another issue and worked late last night trying to make up for lost time. We woke up this morning and Nicholas was really sick with a fever and everything. When I told my boss what was going on and asked that I could bring him in to work with me he was so gracious and even told me to go home and work from home.

This is my home office. |
While at the office my coworkers were super helpful, they helped keep Nicholas entertained, talked to him and most of all didn't make me feel guilty. My assistant service manager is so good at helping pick up some of my slack and my President and VP gave me the opportunity to take care of boy with peace of mind.
Sometimes I take for granted the good things I have like my job and the people there that make it great.
So go tell John that you saw compassion and understanding for a working mom taking care of her sick kid.
