End of the Year

My point for Go Tell John was to explore the Gospels through the year and how much Christ has lived through our family.

Last night I had dinner with just my husband. Our service was terrible and the food wasn't awesome but the dinner was incredible. Nick never stops amazing me. The man I have seen him grow into over the last 12 years is awesome.  Last night I was looking across the table at my best friend just like I have a million times before but last night he was my best friend and my husband. My team mate and partner.

We have iCloud (I'm sure a lot of people have this) but its where you can sync all of your music, apps and calendars together. Oh my gosh it was like God knew our struggles as a couple and shined down on us this electronic gift of keeping us on track with each other's schedules. Seriously, this calendar might have changed our lives as a family :-) Ok- that is an exaggeration but, it is amazing. Also what is incredible is this app that we have where we can read each day's Mass readings, Gospels, feast days and prayers. Now this is the point I have been trying to get to: Nick is reading these. Everyday.

We come together in the evening and talk about the Gospel readings. Last night we talked about the disciple whom Jesus loved. We talked about how the 3 wise men tricked Herod. We talked about the Feast of Holy Innocence. The things I wanted to have in my family; talking about our faith, praying and discussing Christ together.

I think we still have a long way to go and I know I have have a looonngg way to go to get closer to Christ BUT I also know God put my husband in my life to make me a better person. And I know the reasons why we were married in the first place are still the reasons why we work so well together 6 years later (we are helping each other get to heaven - I might need more help than him...)

So go tell John...

We love The Museum Center

A few weeks ago I got a text from my cousin Corey saying him and his two little ones were headed to the museum  center.  What a coincidence  because we were headed there too.
We got to see the Christmas display and all of the trains. We even got to sit in Santa's Chair before he got there.

We played in the Children's Museum, and did an armadillo craft.

We love the Museum Center!

I love my husband.

I woke up on Thanksgiving morning (well actually I was still sleeping but Nick and the boys had been up for a while) and Nick asked me if I wanted some decaf from UDF. I of course said yes. He then gave me a hug and a kiss and told me he had bought cinammon rolls for our traditional Thanksgiving breakfast. That was the single moment when I realized that the 16 year old boy from Elder I had fallen in love with 12 years ago had grown into exactly the person I have always loved him for being.

Sometimes I can't choke back the tears when I think about how blessed I am. So lucky to have a husband who has grown with me through out the years. Someone who knows exactly who I am, even when I sometimes forget. Someone who know exactly what to say and what not to. A husband who gets up with the boys in the morning and lays with them as they fall asleep.

I am so blessed to have my best friend as my husband.

These are the flowers he bought me for no reason. "because your awesome" was his reason. Purple and green, perfect color combination. I think he is the one that is awesome.

Halloween 2011

Jack was Spiderman and Nicholas was Peter Pan

We are still eating Halloween Candy.

29 in one Week

In one week I will turn 29.

I sit here with 2 boys playing/fighting in the other room and another in my belly and I should be trying to get dressed to take them to the Museum Center. Plus we have Kohls Cash that we have to spend today.

Last night Nicholas had his first Lollipop Soccer game and I have to say I have never ever been prouder. Nicholas can some times be a handful when it comes to interacting with other kids and I was worried to say the least. Not only did he listen to his coaches and follow perfect direction but he also scored 4 goals!

I started thinking about all of the things I can tell him and show him to make him an even better player. He is only 4.

My little Jackaroo did awesome too. He answered all of the coaches questions and followed instructions. He was so darn cute.

I guess I am sitting here on the verge of turning 29 thinking about how young I feel but of all the things I have done. I think of all of the responsibilities I have and all of the things I don't know. I wonder if when I turn 39 or 49 or 59 if I will still feel the same way. If I will feel like everything is still so new and not planned out. If I will still feel so disorganized. I under who I will be in a another 10 years. I wonder who my boys will be?

Go tell John I turn 29 in one week and I don't know what that means.

Todays Gospel Reading

Luke 18: 1 - 8
1 And he told them a parable, to the effect that they ought always to pray and not lose heart.
2 He said, "In a certain city there was a judge who neither feared God nor regarded man;
3 and there was a widow in that city who kept coming to him and saying, `Vindicate me against my adversary.'
4 For a while he refused; but afterward he said to himself, `Though I neither fear God nor regard man,
5 yet because this widow bothers me, I will vindicate her, or she will wear me out by her continual coming.'"
6 And the Lord said, "Hear what the unrighteous judge says.
7 And will not God vindicate his elect, who cry to him day and night? Will he delay long over them?
8 I tell you, he will vindicate them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of man comes, will he find faith on earth?"

Indianapolis, Indiana

Nick and I took this weekend to take a mini-vacation to Indianapolis. It was 3 days of non-stop fun.

First, on Thursday the boys had their Halloween Party at School

On Friday we went to the Fort Harrison State Park. Where we rode ponies, again. This time they were name "Magic" and "Cindy".

We also went on a hike through the woods.

We then went to Connor Prairie a Smithsonian Museum that featured a Halloween themed fall event.

The boys enjoyed the haunted hayride complete with headless horseman.

In the morning we started our daay with biscuits and gravy!

Then spent the ENTIRE day at the Indianpolis Children's Museum. This place was so much fun. We enjoyed every moment of it!

We wrapped up our trip with dinner at the Indianapolis Colts Restaurant. It was within walking distance of our hotel and the food was really good. The Ohio State game was on and the boys like that the walls were made of football leather.

This was our last trip as a family of four. Next time we hit the road there will be 5 of us!

Fall Fun 2011 - Part 1

We have had a really great fall. Here is a look back at some of the fun things we have done.

At Parky's Farm (Winton Woods) we learned about Honey Bees and rode on Ponies.

Although Elder had a disappointing season we had a ton of fun going to 4 Elder Home Games.

For the 3rd year in a row we went to the Pumpkin Festival at Minges Farm

This year Nicholas and Jack were big enough to participate in the games....and Daddy too.

Jack won a blue ribbon for the Cow Chip Throwing Contest. Way to go Rooster!

Another, farm means another chance to ride horses. Which we did.

Of course we picked out pumpkins too!
